Women aren’t the only ones who want to look their best. Guys who work out and take care of their physique want to show off all that hard work, and one way they do that is by choosing brief mens swimwear that leaves little to the imagination. Sure, Speedos have been around forever, but today there are more choices in men’s swimsuits than ever before. But you’ve got to have some real confidence to wear it.
When referring to these types of garments, “swimwear” is a bit of a misnomer. With the exception of Speedos, most of these “men’s bikinis” aren’t made to stand up to a day of playing in the surf. Rather, it’s more about being noticed, and as a side effect, minimizing tan lines. Most styles are far briefer than the briefest mens underwear.
Most of the more extreme mens swimwear is designed for a very exotic look. The main types of designs for these men’s swimsuits are g-strings, thongs, bikinis, and pouches, with bikinis being the most modest. The standard mens bikinis are brief, to be sure, but they do offer full rear coverage.
Thongs are the next most revealing style of brief men’s swimwear. You’ll be pretty well exposed from the back, with varying degrees of front coverage. G-strings are briefer still – from behind, it’s about as close to total nudity as you can get. Even though there’s not a lot to g-strings, they come in a huge range of styles, many of them designed to appeal to a spandex fetish.
The ultimate in revealing men’s swimsuits are the pouch models. These are brief enough that they are very similar to the pouches that male actors wear during nude scenes, meaning only the essentials are out of view. They allow for the most complete tan, and they do attract a lot of attention. This style, as well as some of the g-string and thong styles are not always accepted at more family-oriented beaches and swimming venues.
Though practices change with trends, today the trend for men who wear these very daring styles are to undergo a full body wax beforehand. There may come a time when hairy guys rule, but for the time being, smooth skin is the way to go. A lot of guys wear accessories with their extreme swimwear, including designer sunglasses, hats, and masculine jewelry. Some guys like the fact that they can show off their piercings and/or ink better with the more daring styles.
Though it should go without saying, sunscreen is extremely important when wearing men’s thongs, g-strings, and other barely-there styles. Even those with dark skin can experience sunburn, particularly on skin that has been de-haired and that doesn’t usually see the sun.
Shopping for extreme mens swimwear is actually pretty easy, because an accurate hip measurement is all that’s needed. A mind-boggling array of styles can be ordered online, and, of course, they’re not difficult or expensive to ship. Wearing extreme men’s swimsuits makes a bold statement, so if you’re thinking about trying it out for yourself, be prepared for all eyes to be on you.
